Superior Girls Hockey Lets Three-Goal Lead Slip Away in State Semifinal Loss to St. Croix Valley

Superior finishes the year with a 9-14 record.

MIDDLETON, Wis.- The Superior girls hockey team made their first state tournament appearance since the 2023 season on Thursday.

Facing St. Croix Valley in the semifinals, the Spartans were up 4-1 at one point in the 2nd thanks to three goals in the first 9 minutes of the period.

The Fusion then rallied with six unanswered goals, four of which came from Jane Volgren, to come away with the 7 to 4 win.
