No Cost Prom Dress Event

DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth non-profit “If the Dress Fits” is holding its annual no cost prom dress event.

This is the first year the event is being held at Merritt Creek Academy, as Northwood Children’s Services took over the reigns of the annual event.

Students from across the Northland can pick out any dress for free.

Local businesses and community members donated dresses and there is a variety of sizes and styles to choose from.

No appointments are needed, anyone interested can stop by during the open times

“It’s been really fun to see moms and daughters come in. We’ve had school groups come in and be able to take advantage of these free dresses. And we were using the service before, when it was If the Dress Fits and was run by a mom and daughter out of Cloquet, and we saw the benefit and the need in the community, and really wanted to continue that legacy,” Morgan Kolenda, Director of Resource Development at Northwood Children’s Services said.

The even takes place Friday, March 6, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
