Greyhounds Soccer Ready for Another Shot at State Semi-Finals
The Duluth East boys soccer team will take on Minnetonka in the Class AA state semi-finals.
DULUTH, Minn. – Everyone always wants a do–over. One team that really wants one is the Duluth east boys soccer team, after falling in the Class AA semi–finals last season.
And they’ll get their chance Wednesday at U.S. Bank Stadium as they take on fourth-seeded Minnetonka. The players admit that last season they were just happy to be there. But this season, the mission is simple: punch their ticket to the championship game.
“I think this year, we’re a lot more aware of who our opponents are. We’ve studied them up a whole lot more. We’ve watched game film. Also, we know how we’ve played, where we’ve been and we know what it’s like to play in the [U.S. Bank] Stadium. We have that edge on other teams,” senior Michael Reichhoff said.
“We have such a good starting eleven and I think a lot of teams, even in the top four, they don’t bring what we bring. I know it’s being confident, but my boys are really ready,” head coach Corey Bachand said.
The match is scheduled for a noon start time.
