UMD Football Have Their Eyes on Undefeated Season

Bulldogs trying to become the sixth team in program history to finish regular season undefeated.

DULUTH, Minn. – The UMD football team is heading into the final week of the regular season. This weekend, they’ll take on Northern State with a chance to become just the sixth team in program history to finish the regular season undefeated.

“It’s a great accomplishment. We come out here each and every week, trying to get to 1-0. And to get to that undefeated mark would be really neat,” said cornerback Mitchell Johnson-Martin.

“Our goal every year is to be undefeated. Obviously, you can’t accomplish that every single year, but we’re really proud of where we’re at right now. But that being said, we’re not getting complacent,” wide receiver Nate Ricci said.

“Our guys have taken a lot of pride in, all year, having an opportunity to go undefeated. It’s a special thing. It will be a special thing for this group, the 2018 group, to look back on for the rest of their lives,” head coach Curt Wiese said.
