Superior Residents to Pay $7.75 Trash Collection Fee

Council Approves Monthly Garbage Fee, Effective January 2016

Starting this January, Superior residents will pay a monthly trash collection fee of $7.75 per household.

That fee will stand at $7.75 until 2019, when the monthly fee will be increased to $9.75 each month.

This compromise was reached after weeks of debate.

“I don’t want to create any new fees for the citizens of Superior, but when it comes to balancing our landfill budget, we need to do the responsible thing and make sure that we’re not pouring money into this fund year after year,” explained Superior City Councilor Graham Garfield.

Right now, there is no reduced capacity garbage can option, however, Councilor Garfield says that issue will likely be revisited in the future.
