BANFF Mountain Festival Brings Films from Around the World to Duluth

BANFF showcased some of the best outdoor films they had to offer.

DULUTH, Minn.- Among several stops on its world tour, the BANFF Mountain Film Festival made a visit to the Northland to showcase award winning films from around the world.

Duluth is one of the festival’s biggest venues for more than a decade. Over four thousand people attended the two day event at DECC Symphony Hall.

BANFF was hosted by Duluth Cross Country Ski who is raising money for the club’s winter programs.

“We do have people that are hardcore outdoors people here, and we have couch potatoes that are looking for the inspiration or some sort of aspirational moment that says, ‘Man, I could do that,'” BANFF local director Mark Nyholm said.

The films showed were among the 35 best picked from the BANFF Festival of Mountain Films this past Fall.

Coordinators anticipate the number of people attending the festival in Duluth to continue growing each year despite already being in the Twin Port’s largest venue.
