Teenage Duluth Artist Performs on FOX 21 Sunrise

Kaylee Matuszak to Perform at Duluth Homegrown Friday

A young Duluth native will be taking the stage as part of the Duluth Homegrown Music Festival tonight. 

Kaylee Matuszak will be performing at The Underground at 8 p.m. Friday, May 6.

A couple of years ago Matuszak was inspired by Brandi Carlile and decided to take up music.

Before this, she had never played the guitar and eventually taught herself. 

“About two years ago when I was in 10th grade I started listening to Brandi Carlile and I don’t know, I was just inspired by her voice and everything she does so I thought ‘I want to do that.’ So, I picked up an old guitar that my mom had in the basement and started playing around with it and eventually figured it out,” Matuszak said. 

This morning, Matuszak played “On the Brink” for our viewers.
