Hundreds lined the streets in Proctor Saturday for the annual Hoghead Festival parade.

All week long residents have been celebrating the 40th annual festival highlighting Proctor’s rich railroad history.

The small community was created in 1892 when the Duluth Missabe and Northern Railroad were extended into Duluth.

For seven-year-old Jack McCaffrey the festival is about much more than Proctor’s heritage.

“We’re having a parade and lots of people are throwing candy.I like to see the horses walk around and dance,” said McCaffrey.

The festival wraps up Sunday.
