Chocolate Shops See Spike in Sales During Valentines
Northlanders have a sweet tooth for the love holiday.
DULUTH, Minn.- Flowers aren’t the only gift Northlanders are buying their sweethearts for Valentines Day.
Chocolate and fudge shops like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Canal Park were fully staffed for one of their busiest days of the year.
The shop started taking pre-orders for candy packages Monday. They say chocolate covered strawberries are the most popular sale on Valentines.
“It’s just kind of nice to have something sweet,” store manager Brittany Rapp said.
For the first time on Valentines, the chocolate shop even extended their hours until 9 p.m. so couples could come in after dinner for a holiday treat.
