The Greater Downtown Council is donating $10,000 to the City of Duluth, to fund a study on the feasibility of a permanent bike lane on Michigan St.

Kristi Stokes of the Greater Downtown Council says the council believes placing a lane on Michigan St. will make for a safer ride and fewer parking disruptions.

The construction of the Duluth Transportation Center also played a factor in the council’s decision.
