A train beloved by children worldwide is making yet another stop right here in the Twin Ports.
Thomas the Tank Engine is preparing a two-weekend stint at the North Shore Scenic Railroad.
He made his debut right by the Lakewalk behind the Fitger’s Complex Wednesday morning.
Thomas will be giving rides to thousands of visitors this weekend and next, but those at the North Shore Scenic Railroad say there’s so much more going on at the Depot.
“There’s games, there’s a magician, there’s a juggler, there’s music, there’s festival food,” explains Ken Buehler, General Manager at the North Shore Scenic Railroad. “It’s a whole event. It’s a kids’ carnival based around Thomas.”
Buehler says Thomas’ appearance in Duluth will have a huge impact on the area.
“We have the same economic impact as Grandma’s Marathon because we have coming up about 18,000 people to see Thomas this year. He’s got a lot of friends!” Buehler said.
Tickets for “A Day Out With Thomas” are $19.00 per person.
