A historic library in Superior has a serious buyer considering the $125,000 purchase.
The 14,000 square foot building has been empty for the past 20-years.
Community members who have worked to maintain and preserve the library want to see it put to good use and they soon could.
The Superior African Heritage Development Board is making strides to buy the property and convert it to space that brings people from all walks of life together.
“Part of the perspective we’re looking at achieving for that building would be to have two conference rooms, also a cultural history reference library, a teen challenge drop in center, a small art gallery meeting room a daycare center, and a commercial kitchen and dining room,” said Kym Young with the Superior African Heritage Community.
Board members tell Fox21 their biggest challenge right now is fundraising, although the building is listed at $125,000, they expect to spend close to one million dollars in upgrades and renovations
