Site Plans Revealed for Old Morgan Park School

Developers Direct Focus on 156 New Units in Morgan Park Neighborhood

After recently pulling out of the Rockridge site, developers are now fully focused on a $19 million plan for the old Morgan Park School.

The site plan for the 12–acre property has12 rental-unit townhomes, with 156 units total.

The developer bought the site for $100,000 last week, and hopes this project will bring life to Morgan Park.

“For far too long, many people ignored this neighborhood. It’s West Duluth and it’s a thing of the past, and this isn’t an area they want to be in anymore. And we’re changing that,” said Aaron Schweiger with Schweiger Development.

Developers are meeting with the city planning office Monday to seek permits.

Groundbreaking is planned for early September.
