One Seriously Injured in Cass County ATV Crash

Authorities Continue to Investigate the Incident

CASS COUNTY, Minn. – An Alexandria woman sustained serious injuries on Sunday afternoon after the ATV she was driving rolled down an embankment in the Foothills State Forest in Ansel Township.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and EMS personnel responded to a report of an ATV crash with serious injuries near the Spider Lake Recreation Area around 2:06 p.m. on Sunday.

Authorities learned the victim, 58-year-old Mary Hedstrom, took a sharp turn while driving a 2004 Sportsman 600 ATV and lost control leaving the trail and rolling down an embankment.

Hedstrom was transported from the scene by ambulance to a Brainerd area hospital. There is no word on her current condition.
