The Duluth Rowing Club hosted it’s 57th annual regatta Saturday.

The event drew teams from the Twin Cities, Canada, Wisconsin, and even Wichita to the Northland.

Rowers of all ages competed for pride, bragging rights and individual medals in the 1.25 mile race put on at Park Point.

The day started off smooth around 8:30 a.m.

As the afternoon progressed choppy water conditions had race officials considering canceling some races in consideration of competitor safety.

Despite heavy competition the Duluth Rowing Club had a great showing winning 6 of the 16 events in which it competed.

Those events were:

Junior Men’s Eight, Women’s Single, Junior Men’s Four, Master Mixed Quad, Master Men’s Double, and Master Women’s Four.

The Duluth Rowing Club is not just about competition, they do offer rowing courses for new rowers.

Anyone who would like more information can find it on the club’s Facebook page.
