Superior Fire Department Swears in 10, Promotes Service Men & Women

The Superior Fire Department grew in size and strength Thursday afternoon, as 10 new firefighters were sworn into duty.

Ten others who have been serving Superior for years were promoted within the department.

The new additions say it’s great to have such accomplished and well–respected colleagues to look up to.

“Being a younger guy, it’s nice to have good guys to follow. I’ve had a lot of knowledge from the book, but following these guys is knowledge in the field, and sometimes knowledge in the field is way better than something you read in a book because the book doesn’t know what’s going on,” said Superior Firefighter Travis Nate.

Mayor Hagen also spoke at the ceremony, offering his appreciation to all those honored Thursday.
