Superior high school raises enough money for grad party
Superior high school’s annual grad party has been saved for this year.
The annual drug free grad party, however, is still in jeopardy of fading away in the future because of a lack of funding.
The party has been going on for 25 years but organizers say that corporate donations have been drying up and the cost to put on the big party continues to rise.
The overall cost is $16,000 for the 250 students that attend every year.
Julie Urban, Chairperson for Grad Party, said “It provides that safe and fun night for some kids who might not see each other again for a long time so it’s very nice.”
Along with drugs, the grad party is also free of cell phones, alcohol and smoking.
