New UWS YellowJackets Get a Chance to Move In Early

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin– Superior kicked off day one of move– in days for the fall semester.

About 100 new students arrived on campus early Tuesday as u–w–s move in crews welcomed the students with open arms.

They were also on hand to help students and their families get their things into the residence halls.

Some students say they are ready to start this new experience.

“I think living on campus is really important and just being able to get involved with everything. So I’m excited to see all the things they offer and just get involved in those,” said new student Sarah Suggs.

This first move-in day is part of the university’s Jumpstart Program, which allows some students to move in early.

“The Jumpstart Program is designed to help students make those connections with college resource offices, different staff and faculty on campus, and of course the students they will go through their first year of college with,” said Admissions Counselor Brittney Kemi.

A second move-in day will be held September 1st for the returning students.

Classes begin on September 4th.
