St. Mary’s Hospital in Superior Reacts to Bomb Threat at Fire Department Headquarters

SUPERIOR, Wis. -St. Mary’s hospital sits next door to the Superior Fire Fepartment.

Hospital leadership was worried about the hospital’s proximity to the suspicious device, but authorities assured them everyone was safe.

Staff say if the incident was more severe than it actually was, they were ready to take action.

“We have a process in place that we kind of rely on. Incident commands that everybody kind of engage and knows what to do,” said Essentia Health’s Media Relations Specialist Louie St. George.

St. Mary’s hospital wasn’t evacuated.

There’s no word on whether or not the road closures from the scare affected its ability to receive patients.
