8th Annual Rivet Run/Walk Working to Protect Trails

Despite the cold this year was one of the best turnouts the race has seen.

Nearly 150 runners and walkers participated in the eighth annual Rivet Run/Walk on a chilly morning on Sunday at Pattison State Park near Superior, WI.

The event raises money that goes straight back to the trails to keep them up for the cross country skiing season as well as non-snow use.

Despite the cold this year was one of the best turnouts the race has seen.

“It’s important for the youth and families to get outdoors and enjoy the great outdoors to support the park and stay in shape,” said Wayne Graves, a volunteer and runner at the 5K.

The runners who placed also got a real ship’s rivet as their trophy.
