From fires to floods, disaster exists in Minnesota and disasters of all kinds affect Northland businesses and families.
A conference called “Under One Roof” dealt with emergency response Tuesday.
More than 300 people came out to connect with organizations to learn the latest developments and best practices in exploring new ways to respond to emergencies.
“We have folks that are speaking about family emergency assistance. If there’s a big disaster, the reunification of families is just an amazing thing. All the subjects here, one way or another, can be used if needed,” said disaster relief coordinator with the American Red Cross, Tony Guerra.
Organizations also taught attendees how to strengthen relationships with their partners while learning information on emergency preparedness.
“They know each other before the disaster and it’s a lot better working with folks you know on the disaster. So, it’s a great opportunity for the partnership building,” said Guerra.
This was the 5th annual conference.
