Hendrickson Wins Golden Gloves Title

Duluth Boxer Won Heavyweight Division, Prepares for Nationals

Duluth has a brand new Upper Midwest Golden Gloves boxing champion.

Trent Hendrickson of the Twin Ports Boxing Gym won the heavyweight division at the tournament in Walker last weekend.

Hendrickson now shifts his preparations for the Golden Gloves National Tournament next month in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Hendrickson trains with Ryan Watson, the Upper Midwest Heavyweight champ the last two years.  Following watson with the title makes winning even more special.

“It’s nice to bring the Heavyweight Upper Midwest title to the Twin Ports,” said Hendrickson.  “I’m right below (Watson’s) name on the roster for winning it, he’s actually the one who got me in to boxing.  Probably one of the proudest moments of my life.”
