Thursday night, the First Witness Child Advocacy Center wrapped up its ” I Stand with Kids” campaign that helped promote education on how to prevent child abuse.

The center hosted an open house to showcase the “mini blue kids” in that community members bought and put in their yards to help child abuse victims and their families.

Even though April is over, the center wants the community to be aware of child abuse every month.

“It’s not something we talk about a lot.  It’s not something we talk to our kids about a lot.  So, one of the most important things we do all month is really try to get the word out about how adults can talk to kids and we can keep them safe,” said First Witness Advocacy Child Center’s Executive Director, Beth Olson.

Last year, the center worked with nearly 200 families.
