Red Cross Holds Humanitarian Simulations
The realities of armed conflict and humanitarian action played out in the Northland Monday.
High school and college students teamed up with the Red Cross at UWS to tackle real-life simulations of conflict — with the goal of learning about International Humanitarian Law.
“Whether that be protections for civilians in areas of conflict, protections for refugees, as well as for our service members who are serving overseas for the Geneva conventions,” explained Dan Williams, executive director of the American Red Cross.
The Northland is one of only 15 International Humanitarian Law programs in the nation.
