The second clipper system of the week came through the Northland Tuesday and Tuesday night.  As forecasted, the highest snowfall totals were in the I-35 Corridor and northwest Wisconsin regions with 4 to 8 inches recorded.  We did get a break from the snow showers Wednesday with some sunshine at times.  Highs were able to warm to the upper teens and 20s earlier in the day, but they have been cooling this afternoon as winds have been coming in from the north and northwest.

This cooler and dry conditions continue Wednesday night as a high-pressure system passes through.  Winds will be calming with low temperatures in the single digits above and below zero.  Thursday will see a weak disturbance pass through, bringing a chance for a few snow showers during the afternoon.  A third clipper system will pass through late Thursday night and Friday morning, bringing new snowfall up to 1 inch across the Northland.  Winds will remain light at most with highs in the teens.

This weekend will be the coldest we have been so far this winter season with highs staying in the single digits above and below zero, with lows in the teens below zero.  Factor in any winds, and wind chills will be at least 25-below.  Expect cold weather alerts to be issued.  At least we will be dry through the weekend, with the next chance for any snow showers to possibly come through Monday.  Temperatures will be warming through the middle of next week, with 20s for highs likely Tuesday and Wednesday.
