GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. – Grand Rapids residents could soon have a dog park.
The city is looking to construct a 40,000 square foot fenced in area at Veteran’s Memorial Park.
After multiple requests the city has decided to push forward with building a nearly $12,000 park for pooches.
The project will be paid for with donated fund, but so far only one person has made a donation.
“I think we’re a little bit behind the times Bemidji, Brainerd, Hibbing, and Duluth all have at least one if not multiple dog parks. It’s a great place for people to meet other people in the community. It’s not just a place for you to go and let your dog run without a leash,” said Dale Anderson with Grand Rapids Park and Recreation.
