A $7,000 grant will help the Lake Superior Zoo build an educational kiosk and buy animal care tools to help children and families learn about the farm animals.

The gift will allow the zoo to install the kiosk and purchase the equipment including brushes, rakes and shovels.

Agstar hopes it gives children and families a more hands on experience to learn about agriculture.

“That’s where the interest grows… that’s where passion in some cases grows and that’s where we find out team members at Agstar.  Those kids that had that experiences and ultimately it moves into the future of agriculture,” said Agstar Senior Vice President, John Monson.

The display will be finished at the end of May.
