City Sets Up Dump Sites For Winter Sand, Salt

The City of Duluth is inviting residents to dispose of excess road salt and sand from sidewalks, curbs, and boulevards at one of the collection sites set up around the city.

City officials want to avoid any of the leftover debris from going down the sewers and into streams and Lake Superior, which could damage trout habitat.

Here are the drop-off sites:

Chester Bowl (near the playground)

Duluth Heights Community Club Parking Lot

Piedmont Community Center

Wheeler Field (in the back)
