Sands to Fight at Black Bear in June
NABA U.S. Cruiserweight Champion Last Fought in January
The ‘Haitian Temptation’ Al Sands plans to party like it’s 1999 on June 11th at Black Bear Casino in Carlton. That’s when the NABA U.S. Cruiserweight Champion will take on ‘Dangerous’ Damon Reed in one of the card’s featured bouts.
Last time out, Sands stopped Gary Tapusoa in January. But with more than 60 fights, Reed will be one of the most experienced opponents Sands has stepped in to the ring with.
“This guy has been in there with some of the greats,” said Sands. “James Toney, he’s been in there with Deontay Wilder, more recently he’s been in there with Jordan Shimmell. This guy has seen every different look and every different style that there is.”
The June 11th card is filling quickly With local fighters. R.J. ‘T–Rex’ Laase takes on Wisconsin Welterweight Champion Benito Tovar. Also, Trevor Marmon fights Patrick Cade and Eric johnson faces Jose Rios. Both Markus ‘Hooch’ Morris and Ryan Watson expect to have fights as well.
