Year Round Efforts to Produce Spring Blooms

The saying may be that April showers bring May flowers but for the Cloquet Greenhouse it’s a year round effort that produces spring blooms.
The center has operated since the 40s.
The facility was nearly empty last month and now has hanging flower baskets and thousands of perennials, annuals, petunias and more.
Owner, Paul Johnson, says the anticipation of ordering seeds is the most exciting part.
“A lot of times I have to order my seeds right after Christmas and get them in February and start selling them in May. I start getting excited right after Christmas to start planting,” Johnson said.
Mother’s Day is the busiest day for selling flowers.
