Chum Desperately Needs Volunteers For Annual Rhubarb Festival Saturday

DULUTH, Minn. — Chum’s annual Rhubarb Festival is happening Saturday, and they desperately need volunteers to make it happen.

The festival is Chum’s biggest fundraiser, in order for them to continue serving those experiencing homelessness.

Volunteers are needed for the set up and tear down of the event and there will be tents, grills, kid’s games, signs, and banners to get ready.

Chum’s director of communications and marketing says volunteers are what keep them going.

“There’s something to be said about helping out someone who’s in need. I think that goes across to everyone and by providing that space where people can volunteers can help folks directly who are in need. Whether they’re experiencing hunger, homelessness, poverty, sleeping outside, anything. They’re making a big impact on those people’s lives,” said Bradley Zwagerman, director of communications and marketing.

The Rhubarb Festival is this Saturday at Stella Maris Academy from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you’d like to sign up to volunteer, click here.
