Registration Open for Duluth East Youth Football, Cheerleading Program
Both programs are open to kids from 3rd grade to 8th.
DULUTH, Minn. – Registration is open for the Duluth East Youth Tackle Football program.
Kids from 3rd to 8th grade can sign up to learn the fundamentals of football, as well as other life lessons on the gridiron.
“Eleven players on each side of the ball and it’s a big team sport. It starts from the line to the quarterback and running backs, receivers got to all be on the same page. I think it’s a big team sport that helps not only on the football field, but in the classroom and at home with the discipline. But also I encourage multi-sport, too. We want all those kids that play hockey to come and play football, too,” said president Nate Anthony.
Registration is also open for the youth cheerleading program as well. They are also open to grades 3rd through 8th with a season that runs from august to October.
“These girls get to be together after school. They get to talk about what’s going on. They get the chance to hang out and to be a part of something. To watch their brothers, to watch their friends, to watch their classmates and to cheer them all on. They get to find their voice. They get to be a little louder and it’s encouraged,” head cheerleading coach Angie Borowicz said.
