Former U.S. International Helps ‘Kick it Forward’

Tony Sanneh Ran Clinic With Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association

The Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association held its annual Kick it Forward soccer fair at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center Sunday.  The fair included a clinic run by former United States Men’s National Team player Tony Sanneh.

Sanneh, who now heads his own foundation in the Twin Cities, led the kids through a couple hours of dribbling drills.

His career included playing in the 2002 World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, as well as Major League Soccer, but it’s the chance to share his passion, especially with those less fortunate that drives him and is how he gives back to his sport.

“Just getting kids playing, having fun, learning to enjoy making new friends and being part of the community is really important,” said Sanneh.  “The Arrowhead Soccer Association is the largest club in the state, so to be able to come and help support the sport of soccer and see it’s development here has been a great opportunity for us.”
