Drive Thru Job Fair Provides Northlanders Access To Career Opportunities

The event will take place at both WITC-Ashland and Northcentral Technical College in Phillips, from noon to 4 p.m.

WISCONSIN- The Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board is taking a new approach to help provide more access to available jobs.

Next week, the organization will be hosting a statewide drive-thru job fair.

The idea was borrowed from similar events, which have taken place in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Job seekers can remain safely in their cars during the career fair.

Attendees will drive up and grab a packet filled with information about open employment opportunities in the Northland.

“This is a statewide effort to bring the jobs that are available to the job seekers that can’t get into the job centers,” said Scott Schultz, director of industry and innovation at NWWIB. “We are just trying to help out any way possible.

The job fair is being held on July 15 across Wisconsin.

In the Northland, the event will take place at both WITC- Ashland and Northcentral Technical College in Phillips, from noon to 4 p.m.
