There are clear blue skies for miles and fresh Northwoods air, but that’s not all you could experience in the nation’s “Ice Box” Thursday.
“It was minus 22 when I left my house this morning. I think it is about minus six right now,” said Justin Olson, Rainy Lake District’s Interpreter.
Voyageurs National Park Rangers said the majority of winter weather this season has been great for getting outdoors with fresh snow.
You can snowshoe, cross country ski, ice fish and snowmobile more than 100-miles of trails.
Rangers said the park’s ice road on Rainy Lake is more than 14-miles long this year.
