City leaders announced a change of course for Duluth’s Golf Courses.

The City of Duluth has selected Billy Casper Golf to manage Lester and Enger Park.

Billy Casper Golf, a management company out of the state of Virginia, will be paid by the city $10,000 per month for it’s services.

Golfers can expect up to $250,000 of capital improvements at Enger Park Golf Course.

The city will repay the company for it’s investment at a rate of $4,167 per month.

City Officials say the management will provide high quality opportunities for golfers.

“That is their strength. They manage more than 70 local government gold programs across the country. They have provided outstanding golfer satisfaction and improved financial performance for local governments,” said the Cities Director of Public Administration, Jim Filby Williams.

Williams added the money will go towards improving the look and feel of the course and clubhouse.

“It won’t take care of some of the deeper infrastructural issues but we are hoping to take those on in the years to come,” said Williams.

The contract will put the management in charge for the next five years.
