Duluth Fall Wedding Show Postponed due to COVID-19
DULUTH, Minn. – The Lundeen Group announced on Monday afternoon that the Duluth Fall Wedding Show has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The show, originally scheduled to take place on September 20, has now been moved to September 19, 2021.
“We have reviewed the latest State of Minnesota guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and, as it stands currently, it would be virtually impossible to have an event that would live up to the expectations of both our exhibitors and attendees,” said Tracy Lundeen of Lundeen Productions, event promoters. “We have met with DECC officials and, although they were very helpful in trying to help us navigate through this, the numbers don’t add up and the States Guidelines/Policies are ultimately too restrictive to have a successful wedding show.”
The Lundeen Group said in a Monday press release that current Minnesota guidelines allow a maximum of 250 people in an indoor event space at a time and holding such a large event would be a “recipe for failure.”
“These are trying times for the wedding, hospitality and special event industries. We are trying to do everything we can to be strong advocates for the industry and have numerous conversations with our exhibitors, potential attendees, fellow promoters throughout the upper Midwest, and others” added Lundeen. “I’ve been in this industry for nearly 40 years and never have I seen anything that mirrors what we are facing right now. Unprecedented is the word.”
