Broman Brothers Coach Fundamentals at Basketball Camp

Camp focused on passing, dribbling and shooting

DULUTH, Minn.- With most schools in the Northland not having classes this Friday, some kids hit the court at the Broman Academy Fall Camp.

The camp was hosted by former Lakeview Christian Academy and Division I basketball players Bjorn and Anders Broman. The brothers split the camp into two sessions: One for 1st-4th graders, and the other for 5th-9th graders.

Anders says he and Bjorn enjoy giving back to the sport they grew up playing. “We had great role models that were older than us and people that worked with us when we were younger that really set a tone, so we always knew that we wanted to have that same effect on the next generation of basketball players.”

Friday’s sessions were all about fundamentals, which Anders says is a must for kids wanting to get better on the court. “People don’t understand that you can’t do that without learning the fundamentals. You can’t do all these crazy moves without learning how to dribble or learning how to shoot or things like that, so it all starts at a base level.”

Bjorn and Anders hold most of their camps in the Carolinas where they currently live, but they always make it a point to host sessions whenever they’re back in Minnesota.
