2 Arrested For Burglary, Animal Cruelty Charges In Virginia
VIRGINIA, Minn. — Two people have been arrested after a burglary in Virginia ended with a dog shot to death.
The Virginia Police Department says at 4:13 a.m. on Friday police were dispatched to a burglary on the 600 block of 15th Street North.
A 25-year-old woman and 24-year-old man had entered the house wearing black face masks. The man had pointed a gun at the 24-year-old woman occupant and demanded money. He then shot the dog that was inside the house.
Authorities say the victim was not injured and the woman suspect was known to her.
The woman suspect was arrested in Ely around 8:30 p.m. Friday and the man suspect was arrested in Virginia just after 12:45 a.m. Saturday. They were both then booked into St. Louis County Jail in Virginia on burglary, assault with deadly weapon, and animal cruelty charges.
