Reece Hunt Makes Return to Bemidji as Member of UMD Women’s Hockey Roster
Hunt played the last four seasons at Bemidji State.
DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD women’s hockey team is coming off a weekend in which they completed the sweep.
The Bulldogs would outscore MSU-Mankato 7 to 2 to pick up two victories.
The train rolls on this upcoming weekend as UMD stays on the road to play a winless Bemidj State squad.
The Bulldogs have taken their last nine contests against the Beavers.
Head Coach Maura Crowell says you can never overlook anyone in the WCHA.
“Their record is their record and ours is ours. But this is only our seventh game coming up. So it’s really early and I would hesitate to put too much stock in what record’s are right now. Some teams play really easy non-conference schedules. They have not had an easy road nor have we. I think being ready for a tough road opponent is really important. That’s the mentality we want to have is you don’t take anything for granted,” said Crowell.
This weekend’s series will also mark a return for UMD graduate forward Reece Hunt, who played at Bemidji the last four seasons.
“Yeah it’s going to be interesting. Being on the vistitor’s side. But again it’s just a hockey game. I’m just trying to think hockey. Not let distractions get to me but yeah it’s going to be hard. But good to see some people. Yeah, we’ll see,” added Hunt.
Puck drop of game one is at 3:01 PM on Friday.
