Coppertop Craft and Bake Sale Returned After Break Due to COVID
DULUTH, Minn. — After a multi-year break due to COVID-19, the Coppertop Craft and Bake Sale returned Saturday.
The popular sale has over a 20 year history, and has increased in size each year.
Despite a break, there was people lined up at the doors before the start of the sale.
Over 30 vendors had items such as knitted clothes, home décor and more.
While the baked goods sold out fast, there was still other food available. The turnout was much better than expected.
“We keep saying on our planning team, you know, well we’re just going to jump back into this and hope for the best and it’s been wonderful,” said Karen Alseth, Craft and Bake Sale Planner.
The sale also serves as a way to rally the community together.
“We need to support out local crafters and people that provide products and they haven’t been able sell during some of the COIVD years,” said Pastor Jeanine Alexander. “And then we need community together, it’s so fun, it’s hard to get through some of the hallways right now because people are seeing each other and then enjoying each other and engaging, so it’s a community event for us as mush as it is a craft and bake sale.”
If you missed the craft and bake sale, the church will also be hosting a book sale on November 18.
