UWS Women Take Down Saints, Men Prevail in OT

Yellowjackets' first home sweep of season

SUPERIOR, Wis.- It was a night to remember at Wessman Arena as both UW-Superior hockey teams picked up wins on Tuesday.

The Yellowjacket women defeated Saint Scholastica 3-2, putting them at 4-3-1 on the season. Jenna Hoops finished with a goal and two assists while Libby Kamp and Lucy Drougas scored UWS’s other two goals. Kaylin Garner was also a major offensive contributor with a pair of assists. The team will now get a break in competition before traveling to face St. Olaf on Friday, December 8.

In the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader, the UWS men defeated Concordia Wisconsin in a 3-2 overtime thriller. Senior Blake Holmes delivered the game-winner while Justin Dauphinais and Gavin Rasmussen each scored in regulation. The ‘Jackets will travel to Ashland later this week for a two-game series against Northland College on Friday and Saturday.
