Boys Hockey: Grand Rapids Edges Duluth East in OT, C-E-C Holds Off Hibbing/Chisholm

Grand Rapids (2-0) will next play at Duluth Marshall on Thursday. Meanwhile, C-E-C (1-0) will play at Bloomington Jefferson on Saturday.

DULUTH, Minn.- It would take overtime to decide a winner between Grand Rapids and Duluth East on Tuesday night.

Nathan Garski would then play hero for the Thunderhawks as he netted the game-winning goal on a breakaway, giving Grand Rapids the 2-1 victory.

Bauer Murphy had the other goal for the Thunderhawks in the victory.

Grand Rapids (2-0) will next play at Duluth Marshall on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Duluth East (0-3) will host Bemidji also on Thursday.

In other boys hockey action, Cloquet-Esko-Carlton would take a 4-1 lead into the 3rd against Hibbing/Chisholm.

Ultimately, it would be enough as they held on for the 4 to 3 victory.

C-E-C (1-0) will play at Bloomington Jefferson on Saturday.

Hibbing/Chisholm (1-3) is at Fairbault on Friday.
