UMD Men’s Hockey Returns From Bye Week Searching for Winning Formula

UMD will look to turn the trend from last year as they dropped three out of four against Omaha.

DULUTH, Minn.- It’s back to work for the UMD men’s hockey team as they’ll look to snap a eight game winless drought this weekend versus Omaha.

The team had the holiday weekend off and it arrived at a good time because head coach Scott Sandelin said= he had a lot of guys banged up who are now healthy.

He also added that his team’s performance against St. Cloud State two weekends ago wasn’t all bad.

The biggest question that needs to be answered is if they can find a recipe for success, according to Sandelin.

“We’re the only group that can change. I don’t think we’re as far away. I think the St. Cloud weekend we played well enough to win a game or two. But we didn’t so it doesn’t really matter. We’ve gotta value some things that are important to winning games and be more consistent with those things and our game so they become repetitive,” said Sandelin.

Puck drop for game one is Friday at 7:07 PM.
