Duluth Library Kicking Off Winter Fun
DULUTH, Minn. — The Duluth Public Library is kicking off it’s winter fun with various events and a reading program.
Saturday the library hosted an event based off an Icelandic tradition, where kids and family could enjoy crafts, gift wrapping and of course book reading.
The winter reading program also kicked off. The program promotes reading by letting anyone track their book progress online to potentially win prizes, including gift cards to local bookstores. The reading goals for kids is 10 hours and 20 for adults.
“Today we have a Jolabokaflod event, it’s an event where families can come down and work on some crafts, and it’s also the kickoff for our winter reading program, which runs today until January 31st,” said Stacey Rock, Library Technician. “It’s really great for kids to see adults reading, they can learn through that example and see how enjoyable it is for people.”
The library will be hosting various winter events throughout the month. Including a Holiday Book Sale this Tuesday through Thursday.
