Prep Girls Hockey: Toppers Win 8th Straight, Lightning Shock Mirage

Grand Rapids/Greenway improves to 7-2

DULUTH, Minn.- Two of the Northland’s top girls’ hockey teams earned wins on the road Thursday night.

The Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers earned their 8th-straight victory in their 5-2 win over the Duluth Northern Stars. This puts Marshall at 9-1 overall, which is the second time in three years the Hilltoppers have won nine of their first 10 games.

Meanwhile, despite falling in a 1-0 hole after the first period, Grand Rapids/Greenway rallied for a 2-1 victory over Proctor/Hermantown. The Lightning are now 7-2 overall and are riding a six-game winning streak.

Duluth Marshall and Grand Rapids/Greenway will put each of their streaks on the line when they face off Tuesday at Yanmar Arena.
