Downtown Duluth High Rise Now Set To Open Fall 2025

DULUTH, Minn. — The developer of a 15-story high rise planned for downtown Duluth since 2018 says the building will be completed by the fall of 2025.

The fencing surrounding the site on the 300 block of East Superior Street has been updated with renderings of the 200-unit building.

It’ll be known as The Lakeview.  Retail space will be along the street-level.

Chad Ronchetti, Duluth’s planning and economic development director, released the following statement on recent positive developments about the project.

“The Duluth Economic Development Authority has received correspondence from Landmark, the Developer of the Lakeview project, that they have closed on their financing. DEDA has yet to independently verify that, but the actions taken by the developer in recent weeks are reassuring. The City of Duluth has issued the grading permit for the development, and we understand that dirt work contractors will be onsite in the next week or two. Foundations permits are in the works with only a couple outstanding items to be addressed.

We are thrilled to see progress toward meeting the requirements of the Development Agreement, and we look forward to seeing this project come to life.”

The cost of the project in 2018 was around $70 million. Officials estimate the cost to now be around $85 million.
