SUPERIOR, Wis. — A deer stranded on the ice of the St. Louis River was safely rescued Wednesday morning by fire crew members in Superior.

Reports of the little guy stranded on the ice came in Wednesday morning. The Superior Fire Department says Platoon 3 crews then arrived on scene, put on their ice rescue suits, took out their inflatable rescue craft, and made their way onto the ice.

They were able to safely bring the deer to shore, unharmed, and released the animal on ground into the woods.
