“No Snow Sale” A Sign of Winter (or Non-Winter)
Outdoors Gear Store Northwest Outlet adapts to what Mother Nature serves up.

Those who want to get outside and enjoy a real winter, don’t know how long they will have to wait.
And there is a different kind of waiting going on for those who sell winter gear.
Superior’s outdoors gear store, Northwest Outlet, has decided it can’t wait forever for cold and snow, so they’re putting out the sale sign for everything from boots to long johns. In fact, they’re calling it the “NO SNOW SALE.”
Scott Miller says he thinks because of people’s nightmares with last winter, things were moving pretty good earlier in the season. But the continued bizarre weather has slowed things down a bit. Lowering the price on merchandise is aimed at giving shoppers a nudge while waiting for winter.
“We’re seeing people coming in, getting ready,” said Scott Miller with Northwest Outlet.
“You know, once we get that snow and we get those cold temperatures that make good ice for the ice fishermen to get out on the ice, once all that happens things will be looking up. But right now, we’re just kind of in a holding pattern for weather,” said Miller.
Miller said the store continued through the holidays with a variation of their Black Friday sale. Now, with blizzard and windchill warnings still a ways off, they decided to start their clearance sale a little early.
Maybe some people will think of last year’s pair of choppers before they search the closet–and remember they have a big hole in the thumb.
