Police: Man Stabbed 5 Times At Union Gospel Mission
DULUTH, Minn. – An apparent domestic dispute ended with one man stabbed multiple times at the Union Gospel Mission Tuesday and a female arrested on three felony charges.
According to court documents, 38-year-old Tiwanna Cheree Dunbar stabbed the man five times and accused him of cheating.
The two had been in a relationship for a few months and were living together.
In the days leading up to the stabbing, Dunbar hit the victim in the head, and later threatened to cut him with a knife, according to the criminal complaint.
When officers arrived at the Mission, they took Dunbar into custody and recovered two knives. A body scan at the jail revealed a third knife hidden under her breast.
Dunbar has been charged with three felonies and is being held at the St. Louis County Jail.
Katie Hagglund, executive director of the Union Gospel Mission, said in a statement to FOX 21, “The isolated event in no way represents the day-to-day experiences we have at the Union Gospel Mission.” “We are focused on ensuring the Mission remains a safe, welcoming environment – and an asset to the Northland community.”
